On this page I will show you all the different places we can visit. Together with you I make a plan of what to visit, we can combine different places to make a tour that includes all of your wishes. It is possible to do a 1 day tour, but tours of multiple days is also a possibility. In that case I also arrange a nice hotel to stay for the night and I will arrange breakfast and diner.

Note: Not all the places are possible to visit in a 1 day tour.

Kalutara

Kalutara is my hometown. Kalutara is a Western province and has the 4th biggest river, the Black River (Kalu Ganga). We can visit Richmond Castle a mansion build between 1900 and 1910. The Kalutara Temple is worth a visit because its one of the few hollow Buddist stupas in the world. Kalutara City and the market are also nice to visit.

Galle

Galle is known for the old Dutch fort from the VOC era that is still in excellent condition. In the Dutch fort we can visit a few places like the lighthouse, Dutch catholic church, Clocktower and we can walk around the fort on the wall.
Around Galle there is also a lot to do; Fisher harbour, Bentota river boat safari, Turtle Farm, Gem moonstone mine and factory, Unawatuna beach or Jungle beach.

Kandy

Kandy is situated in a beautiful green valley, surrounded by mountain tops and forests. There is a lot to see and to do in and around Kandy; Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, Royal Botanical Garden, Spice Garden, Elephant Orphanage, Elephant Riding, Tea plantation and Tea factory, Wood carving factory, Traditional Kandy Dancing, Shopping.

Udawalawe National Park

Udawalawe is known for the many elephants you can spot in this park. Besides elephants you can also find different animals like birds, crocodiles, monkeys and deer. There is also a Elephant Transit Home where they take care of orphaned elephant calves. Four times a day they feeding the calves with milk, its a nice thing to watch.

Yala National Park

Yala National Park is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka, bordering the Indian Ocean. You will find a lot of birds, elephants, water buffalo, deer, monkeys and with good luck also leopards and bears.

Wilpattu National Park

Wilpattu National Park is the biggest national park of Sri Lanka.
Wilpattu is a beautiful national park, with a very diverse landscape. The vast savannas, the dense forests and the many lakes make the park a beautiful place. You will find
many bird species, deer, wild boar, crocodiles and also with good luck bears and leopards.

Ella

Ella is a small town surrounded by the beautiful greens of tea. There are a lot of things to do in Ella; Watchting trains at the Nine arch bridge, Hike to the top of Little Adam’s peak or Ella Rock, Visit the Tea plantations and a tea factory, Ravana Falls, Diyaluma Falls.

Nuwara Eliya

Nuwara Eliya is also known as Little England. In this little town you can see houses build by the English Colony like the post office. Besides that you can visit the Tea plantations and a tea factory, go to the St. Clair’s Falls or the Davon Falls and making a boat ride on Gregory Lake.

Planning on a trip to Nuwara Eliya we can also include a visit to Horton Plains what includes Worlds End and Bakers Falls

Haputale

Haputale is a village surrounded by greens of tea. The highlight of Haputale is Lipton’s Seat. This viewpoint over the tea plantations used to be used by Thomas Lipton to monitor the progress.

Anuradhapura

Anuradhapura was once one of the old royal cities and it has been the capital for years. The stories tell that it is the oldest city in the entire country, which was already founded in 437 BC, by the king named Anuradha. A few years later it became the capital of the Sinhalese kingdom in 380 BC and remained so for twelve centuries.Anuradhapura is known for the remaining ruins from this time. In Anuradhapura you can see many stupas, temples and other historical buildings.

Polonnaruwa

For centuries, Anuradhapura was the capital of the kingdom, but since 1070 AD Polonnaruwa has also been crowned as the royal city. In Polonnaruwa you can see many temples, ruins and other sights. The Buddha statues, unique stupas and many special temples are still in good condition.

Sigiriya

Sigiriya is one of the more popular destinations of Sri Lanka. Among other things you can climb the Lions Rock, in the fifth century a palace was built on this rock so that the king could stay here. Instead of the Lions Rock it is also possible to climb the Pidurangala Rock. From this rock you have a beautiful view of the Lions Rock.

Planning on a trip to Sigiriya it is also possible to visit Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park. These Parks are known for the large amount of elephants that see the parks as their home.

Dambulla

The caves of Dambulla are the highlights of this town. These caves are filled with many beautiful Buddha images. On top of the rock where the most famous caves are, is a giant golden temple.

Planning on a trip to Damublla it is also possible to visit Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park. These Parks are known for the large amount of elephants that see the parks as their home.

Kitulgala – Rafting

Kitulgala is a small village in the west of Sri Lanka, in the middle of the rainforest. Kitulgala is the perfect place for white water rafting in Sri Lanka.
If you like adventure I would definitely recommend this.

Mirissa – Whale Watching

The best place in Sri Lanka to whale watching is Mirissa. You are almost guaranteed to see the largest sea mammal in the world, the blue whale, along with a variety of other marine life, for example; Byrd’s whales, dolphins and turtles.
